Dear Member February 11, 2019- Wile E. Coyote
Have you ever had one of those Road Runner & Wile E.Coyote weeks? I'm sure that when Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese created the cartoon they couldn't have imagined that there would be a parody relating to business. Ah,but there is! And, the relationship is in the fact that we all do the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. That's the humor! But in reality it's frustrating to go after something, even using different approaches, only to get the same outcome. You know what I mean! If you need to increase sales by 5% and yet no matter how hard you try, using new sales promotions, new advertising ploys, aggressive referral system plans, but yet you can't get past the 2% mark. Frustrating, right? You might feel like blowing up your marketing plan but chances are you'll settle for ripping it into tiny pieces, having a good cry, and replacing your frustration with the a "Wile E. Coyote" look right before he drops from a cliff.
It's just business! There are so many Wile E. Coyote instances in our daily business lives - like the irate customer and, no matter what you do or say, there is no way you can please them. Eventually, you get that "Wile E. Coyote" look of realization, right before you let go. It's that entrepreneurial spirit like the coyote's natural instinct. The driving force that makes you get up and go back to your business every day and keep putting your all into the business. That is the entrepreneur's true spirit.
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." ~ Thomas A. Edison
